Getting started

The Lugg MCP server lets an agent compare moving and delivery options, prepare a booking, find arrival windows, book with a shared payment token, and cancel a booking. Responses include structured data and a short text summary.

Connect

Environment MCP endpoint
Sandbox https://api-sandbox.lugg.com/mcp
Production https://api.lugg.com/mcp

Use an MCP client with Streamable HTTP support. Start in sandbox. Production calls can create real bookings and authorize payments.

For a quick inspection, connect MCP Inspector to the sandbox endpoint. Use tools/list to browse tool descriptions and schemas, and resources/list to discover the booking guide.

Public access

All tools and resources are available without partner registration or authentication. No API key, bearer token, or OAuth setup is required. /mcp/public is a direct alias for /mcp.

A session's session_id lets any client read, update, and book that session. Sessions are portable: a client can resume a session created by another client using the same ID. Keep session IDs private because they provide access to saved addresses and customer details.

Cancellation uses the booking confirmation number plus a matching customer email or phone number. It does not require a session ID.

Business failures use MCP tool errors with isError: true; a successful HTTP response alone does not mean a booking succeeded.

Start with a booking session

The normal flow is:

  1. Call create_booking_session with the ordered stops to compare quotes in one draft.
  2. Choose a quote with update_booking_session.
  3. Call get_availability and save a returned window, customer details, and optional tip.
  4. Review the saved terms with the customer and obtain payment approval using the session's returned requirements.
  5. Call create_booking with the confirmed session revision and shared payment token.

Session creation does not reserve availability or create a booking. Keep the returned session ID and current revision to continue the flow from any client.

See the booking flow for request examples, payment requirements, and retry handling. The tool reference describes the current schemas.

Booking guide for agents

The server also publishes the booking guide as MCP resources:

  • skill://book-with-lugg/SKILL.md
  • skill://book-with-lugg/references/presentation.md
  • skill://book-with-lugg/references/recovery.md

Read them through resources/read. They explain how to present quotes, obtain customer approval, and handle interrupted calls. Tool results remain the source of truth for prices, availability, and booking outcomes.
